Others not included here have not realized much of their growth potential as yet--remember that over the past 20 years, Larry has strictly picked situations he feels have good long-term appreciation potential. True-some appreciate in the short term, and that's an unexpected benefit, but that's not what Larry looks for.

He bases his choices on fundamentals rather than on technical market considerations such as double tops, etc. He looks for companies that have a product or service that has a growing market. He looks for situations that are at an early stage; ones that the investing public hasn't discovered as yet--ones that have recently moved or are about to move from their R&D phase into commercialization of their product. He likes turnarounds as well; in many cases, the stock price is low due to what caused the management to take serious steps to correct past mistakes, and the investing public does not yet realize what is happening.

Larry particularly likes emerging growth situations, many of which either have developed, or have gained control of emerging technologies. He has the ability to ferret them out and identify those that have great potential. His degrees in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and accounting help, as does a stint in charge of all electronic equipment aboard a ship in the U.S. Navy, experience as president, CEO, & CFO of high-tech companies, and as marketing manager of NYSE & Fortune 500 companies.
